Cannabis based cosmetics
Some people love it, others don’t. Some countries are comparing it to hard drugs such as cocaine, while others claim it is no more harmful than alcohol or cigarettes. Be that as it may, when it comes to cosmetics, marihuana is definitely the little plant, that can.
Cultivated from the commercial cannabis (not the kind you buy in a dark alley, and smoke in your room) come the magic beens called Hemp seeds, which have extremely high amounts of essential fatty acids, omega-3, and omega-6. In other words, you could hardly give your skin a healthier meal. What all these oils do is nourish the dry skin, and also slow down the aging process. Now doesn’t THAT sound like a hole in one?
What also strikes me as a major turn on when it comes to beauty products based on weed is the fact that they tend to be more organically produced, as your average skin care product. Organic can never be bad when it comes to things you put on your skin day in and day out, possibly even more than once per day. Call me crazy, but isn’t it just a little bit scary if you think about all the chemicals you and me aren’t even capable of pronouncing, are put in our facial creams, body lotions, shampoos, and make up? The bad side of cosmetics made out of cannabis is its price. While it’s not crazy expensive, it still lingers a price range higher than the cheapest cream you can get in the supermarket, and if you’re a student who is working hard to make ends meet, every penny counts.
However, in my mid-twenties wisdom and with the potential threat of finding a new wrinkle every single day hanging over my head, I have decided that splurging on cosmetics is not really splurging, but rather a must. If you give your skin, body, and hair the treatment they deserve, they show it, and if you don’t, they punish you for it. Therefore even if you’re not going to be attending the next town marihuana march, and you dislike stoners, don’t hate on the plant. Every beauty expert on the planet says that its good for you, so if I were you, I would definitely give this one a go.
